Quote of the Day
“Players believe in [Norv Turner], respect him and play hard for him. When we went through that tough stretch, no one quit….Bottom line, I believe [Norv Turner and current general manager AJ Smith] give us the best chance to get back to the playoffs.”
-Dean Spanos, San Diego Chargers’ owner
Uhh…hey Dean? You feeling alright, buddy? As the Danchise quipped when he told me about this news, “I’m convinced Dean Spanos has had a stroke.” I tend to agree. It’s either a stroke, or Spanos is suffering from accelerated Alzheimer’s and has totally forgotten who these two men are and what happened this season, but he’s too desperate to retain ownership of the team to admit it. “When we went through that stretch, no one quit.” Hey Dean, remember that game against the Broncos (the Chargers’ sixth (6th!!) loss in a row, where not only did your players quit, Norv Turner quit on his OWN TEAM by having them literally “give up” on the last possession of the game???? Look it up, that shit happened in real life, on November 27, 2011.
Can you imagine that happening in a “normal” job? “Hey everyone, so I know it’s only 2pm, but it looks like maybe we won’t hit our sales quota for the day anyway, so everyone just go home. No need to try. See you on Monday.” You know what would happen if you did that in real life? You’d get shitcanned so fast you’d be homeless before you made it out of the building. Yet these scumfucks get to keep multi-million dollar jobs. We should sick those hippie occupy wall street scumbags on the Chargers management. #occupysandiegochargersoffices!
